After
an uproar from the community over the possibility of Preston
Street and Little Italy being split in half, consultants for
the Ottawa Ward Boundary Review will not recommend any changes
to Somerset Ward.
Residents
living near the Queensway are frustrated that it could take years
before the city constructs sound barriers to block the noise
of transport trucks and cars.
Buses,
cars and a light rail commuter train could all be using Albert
and Slater streets as early as 2009, and some area businesses
are concerned with the city’s plan.
