Farouk Kaspaules says he is utterly preoccupied with the homeland he left behind nearly 30 years ago.  

 
When most people think of breakdancing, they think of people dancing in the streets, or the hip-hop background dancers in rap music videos. Most people don’t think of professional dancers.  

 
Within the brushstrokes of an abstract painting lie the words “You are beautiful you are perfect just the way you are.” This six-by-five-foot painting called “Hidden Around the Corner” is just one of the pieces from Ryan Keur’s recent collection.  

 
It’s an unseasonably warm afternoon in March, when most folks in Ottawa would like to be outside enjoying the beginnings of spring. But, dozens of people are spending it in the basement confines of The Manx Pub on Elgin Street.  

 
This weekend marks the 34th annual Juno Awards, celebrating the best in Canadian music. CTV hopes to break ratings records this year. The show will be hosted in Winnipeg by comedian Brent Butt of CTV’s hit “Corner Gas.”
